Company and agency partners donate $40,000 to Hawaii’s foodbanks
In our continual support of our local community during this current pandemic, DTRIC Insurance, its employees, and its agency partners donated over $40,000 to food banks across the state to help feed Hawaii’s families.
DTRIC and its agency partners held virtual check presentations with representatives from the respective food banks this month. DTRIC and its employees “challenged” their agency partners and insurance agents to raise funds for the Hawaii Foodbank, Maui Food Bank, Hawaii Food Basket on Hawaii Island, and Hawaii Foodbank Kauai through a virtual food drive. The insurance company committed to matching agents’ donations dollar for dollar up to $25,000 statewide.
The donations from the food drive resulted in the following contributions to the four food banks across the state: The Hawaii Foodbank (Oahu), $30,146; Maui Food Bank, $3,516; Hawaii Food Basket (Hawaii Island), $3,768; and Hawaii Foodbank Kauai, $3,154.
“As an essential business, the DTRIC team and our agency partners have been able to continue working, while not all companies were this fortunate,” said Michele Saito, president and chief executive officer of DTRIC Insurance. “We are proud to support the vital work of the food banks across the state to help keep Hawaii’s families from going hungry.”
