DTRIC Cares: 2018 Recap
December 7, 2018 dtric2

DTRIC Insurance employees were busy throughout all of 2018 with a variety of service projects to help those in the community. We had an eventful year that included caring for the environment, delivering meals to our kupuna, and educating the community on safe, responsible, and courteous driving.

Aloha United Way

We raised over $35,000 during our annual Aloha United Way company-wide fundraising drive campaign and employee-giving program. Mahalo to our employees for their incredible support and donations!

Kauai Sign-waving with Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School

We took our Drive Aloha sign-waving tour to Kauai this year to remind motorists to drive safely around our keiki. Thanks to Kauai Mayor Bernard Carvalho, the Kauai County Council and the students of Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School for joining us in October.

Operation Driver Excellence (ODE) events on Oahu and Maui

We continued to partner with the Hawaii Department of Education on traffic education initiatives, including Operation Driver Excellence (ODE) events on Oahu and Maui. The annual ODE events are meant to teach and instill proper driving habits in teenagers while they’re still learning behind the wheel.

Lanakila Meals on Wheels

In November, we volunteered at Lanakila Meals on Wheels by packing and delivering meals for seniors. Mahalo to our 20 volunteers and Lanakila Pacific for allowing us to serve our kupuna!

Our quarterly Adopt-a-Highway cleanups helped to keep our highways beautiful and trash out of our island’s waterways.

Adopt A Family

We wrapped up the year by participating in Adopt A Family, a program of Helping Hands Hawaii. Our employees donated various gifts to support three families in need this holiday season.
