As part of National Child Passenger Safety Week, free child seat inspections will be conducted at a Child Safety Fair at the Waipio Shopping Center on Saturday, September 29.
The event at 94-1040 Waipio Uka Street in Waipio-Gentry will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with certified inspectors on hand to make sure your child safety and booster seats are properly installed. No pre-registration is needed, with child car seat checks done on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event is sponsored by Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Keiki Injury Prevention Coalition, Safe Kids Hawaii, Hawaii Department of Transportation, DTRIC Insurance Company and Waipio Shopping Center.
Along with free child car seat checkups, the day’s activities will include:
- A fire truck display by Honolulu Fire Department
- Fire safety education display by Federal Fire Department
- Display on child water safety
