Luck of the Irish: Be Safe on St. Paddy’s Day
March 8, 2017 dtric2

In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day many of us will be donning (DTRIC) green, sporting Leprechaun hats & four leaf clovers, and perhaps enjoying some green beer, Guinness or Irish whiskey. Let’s remember to be safe, drive with Aloha, and use these lucky charms on this festive day.:

Plan Your Way Home.

Even before the festivities begin, be sure that everyone has a safe way to get home if you plan to drink. Choose a designated driver or arrange for car service or a cab if you and your friends will be celebrating the holiday with adult beverages.

Drink Water and Eat Food.

Don’t drink on an empty stomach. Having food in your belly will help absorb any alcohol you’ll be consuming. Also, drink enough water to stay hydrated to reduce the likelihood of a hangover.

Be a Buddy.

Make sure your friends stay within their limits, and never let anyone drive drunk. If you have to, take their keys and help them find an alternate way home or find a place to spend the night.

Be Extra Cautious on the Roads.

Just because you’re a safe and sober driver doesn’t mean other people are. Drive extra defensively and make sure everyone in your car remains buckled up. Whether you’re driving or just crossing the street on foot, keep your awareness levels high.
