Tamura's

Paying it forward with poke purchases! To support local shops and restaurants, DTRIC’s Support Local Businesses campaign encourage employees to buy from local shops and restaurants. employee campaign. That’s exactly what our teammate Hongchay did at Tamura’s! The locally owned business opened its first store in Waianae in the early 1920s, nearly 100 years ago! Four generations later, the family has three grocery stores, eight fine wine & liquor stores, and a takeout kitchen, and is renowned for its extensive poke bar. Our teammate, Hongchay, got the spicy ahi poke and garlic ahi poke bowls.

KOROMO Katsu &Curry Bistro

It starts with us! When you buy local, your purchase sustains local families, owners, and employees. That’s why DTRIC launched our Support Local Businesses campaign encouraging employees to choose community over convenience. Hongchay enjoyed a delicious chicken katsu and pork sandwich from Koromo while supporting local! Known for their delectable katsu and curry dishes, this bistro first opened its doors in February 2020. Check them out at Pearlridge Shopping Center.

La Tour Café

Our teammate Hongchay’s effort to support local businesses included the La Tour Café, a family-owned business. The Lam family started with a single sandwich shop in Chinatown and 30+ years later built a delectable empire. Now offering an array of salads, sandwiches, and desserts, it’s hard to pick just one. She ordered the crispy goat cheese & beet salad, tomato basil soup, garlicky kale & mushroom grilled cheese sandwich, garlic pommes frites, and an assortment of macarons.
